His guide to traditional and modern orcharding and cidermaking craft skills, first published in 1982, has been republished by Shire Publications, updated to discuss the great changes in the techniques of commercial brewers in the past quarter century. This dictionary of affixes is based on Michael Quinion’s book Ologies and Isms: Word Beginnings and Endings, which was published by the Oxford University Press in 2002. It is now out of print and is presented here as a free service in Web format. The entries cover 1,250 language elements, illustrated by 10,000 examples and with comprehensive cross-indexing.
